New Year, New You…

With Christmas fading quickly into the distance, it can leave us a little deflated now January is here. At Za Za Homes we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to keep our homes looking fresh, and keeping the dynamic appeal that we all adore. We’ve got five TOP TIPS to help you revitalise your home and give the New Year a new YOU!

1, Make your New Year simpler by creating dedicated spaces for your clothing, accessories and useful everyday items. This will also help to clear any clutter and make that spring clean a little easier. Think big with wardrobe space in order to keep the bedroom tidy, and use hanging space on walls for those smaller areas without compromising on aesthetics.

2, If you’re like us then you’ll probably have acquired some greenery over the festive period. Things from Christmas trees, to wreathes, to garlands are all a common occurrence around the holidays, but this doesn’t have to mean that they all have to be thrown away with the wrapping paper! Make your green indoor spaces a permanent fixture by adding baskets and indoor planters with a variety of characterful, warming and soothing plants; not only are they lovely to look at, but are almost guaranteed to give your mood that extra lift when you need it!

3, Sideboards are an attractive yet practical way to remove extra clutter from your homes, leaving everything feeling neat, tidy and ready for a new year ahead. Use them as drinks cabinets to keep bottles from being easily seen, or for extra linen and towels. They also make very attractive centrepieces to any room, and can act as a focal point for you to build the rest of your décor around.

4, Those cosy festive lights that we all enjoyed can actually be a permanent feature at home. Lanterns especially are a great addition to both the house and the garden, and look fabulous even when they are not lit, as they make great statement pieces. Oil lamps and torches are also a great outdoor addition and can offer wonderful external lighting after dark. Don’t let January feel dark and dingy when you can use candlelight to brighten your rooms and your day!

5, If all those gifts from Santa are beginning to clog up your children’s rooms, then baskets, boxes under beds and pouches behind doors are all great space saving tips! Use colours and styles that suit their room décor, so they blend into the room with ease. If you’ve only got a small space then boxing up some of the toys and rotating them is a great way of saving space without your children getting bored!
